This abandoned trade market is a hidden gem located in one of the main cities in Belgium, believe it or not. The building is a reconstruction dating from 1872, of the original market built in 1531. The late Gothic style building has burned down twice during its long history, once in 1583 and then again in 1858. Fortunately for this historical treasure, restoration efforts have begun.
